Case studies

1.  Zimbabwe case studies

6 personalised accounts of ways in which the All In Diary is being used in Zimbabwe:

  1. Improving dialogue between local government and NGOs
  2. Helping specialists' awareness of the wider issues
  3. Improving planning and reporting in organisations
  4. Supporting staff induction and training
  5. Improving access to information
  6. Training community volunteers and increasing personal development

2.  Responding to current emergencies

To support local efforts to respond to sudden onset emergencies, All In Diary has been raising awareness of our on-line resources,  by emailing international and national NGOs, government departments etc. with details of the All In Diary website, and encouraging access to the freely available information.

This has had a significant, and ongoing response.

For example, visits from Pakistan have significantly increased over the past year.  And visits from Haiti, Indonesia,  Palestine and Myanmar in particular continue.

3. Capacity building and training

Local NGO values information in the All In Diary for guiding standards in Palestine:

"These are great efforts to make life easier. I worked in many countries where people are not aware of many basic standards needed. Please find a way to let more people know about this website."  Nader Abu Amsha, The East Jerusalem YMCA, 18 January 2009

Chris Petch, Danish Refugee Council, Yemen

"The informational pages throughout the diary are JUST FANTASTIC. Could I get a copy of soft versions, so that I could print them out into posters or something and put them on the walls in our conference room or on bulletin boards?"
